PLAYER DIVISIONS
Players are placed in divisions based on the average of their last 4 scores, with a few exceptions. Once a player advances to a higher division, they do not move back down automatically. This helps to keep the divisions more competitive and based on a players proven potential. That being said, if you feel you have advanced into a higher postition and are no longer competitive, let us know and we will analyze your stats and current play and may approve moving you back down.
NEW PLAYERS
Players that are new to OOB minis and do not have any scores logged do not play in our lowest divisions at first. Not unless there is a trusted OOB member/player that can vouge for your scores and/or show us logged official scores. We do go over some questions with all new players to get an idea of skill and place accordingly. After your first logged round, your scores will determine your division as described above.
WHY SOME PLAYERS ARE IN THE "WRONG" DIVISION
For the players that appear to be in too high of a division based on their avg, please read the first section at the top of this page.
For players that appear to be too low, there are a few potential reasons. If they have not logged four scores with us yet and we have previous knowledge of their skill, we may leave them lower to analyze their next score(s) before bumping them up, especially if they didn't win their division. Another reason is sometimes when a player's average barely crosses into the next division up, but they haven't been winning their division, we may delay bumping them up to see their next score.
These are just a couple potential reasons for players being in divisions with averages that don't match. But please do not hesitate to reach out if anything seems off to you as errors are possible.
DOLLAR LEAGUES
The general idea of our Dollar Leagues is to have a very accessible and affordable season for players to participate in. The idea is that you can just pay $1 extra (before the round begins) on any of your Saturday rounds to log that score towards your season. The other imporant aspect is that we don't award points as that can sometimes benefit players who can attend more often. Instead we run the season for a certain amount of weeks and take each players best scores from that season. This gives players motiviation to play as much as possible as they get more chances to perform their best. But what it doesn't do is allow one player to score more points than an equally skilled person due to showing up more often.
DOLLAR LEAGUE SEASON 8
In Season 8, we are playing for 9 total weeks, broken down into 3rds. The layout on the course is going to change 3 times. Players will have 3 weeks on each layout to score their best. At the end of the Season, players will keep their best score from each layout.
DOLLAR LEAGUE SEASON 7
In Season 7, it ran for 12 weeks and players kept their 5 best scores.
